2023 Margerum Karmine, Estate

Kärmíne is a blend of estate hillside Grenache and Mourvèdre, co-fermented and finished with Estate Syrah from the Los Olivos District. Inspired by a Vacqueyras enjoyed years ago, it is made using a traditional approach that preserves natural CO₂ during fermentation, slowing the process and contributing to the wine’s supple texture. After 215 days on the skins, the wine was pressed and aged for 10 months in a seasoned French oak foudre. Vibrant crimson in color, it offers aromas of blood orange, dark cherry, spice, and wildflowers. The palate is layered with red fruit, dried herbs, cocoa, and savory notes.
